FC Barcelona Lassa kicked off the New Year with an important win (89-67) over Movistar Estudiantes at the Palau Blaugrana.
Barça showed their strength right from the off, with three successful three pointers. Despite Movistar bringing the game level (11-11), Navarro, Ribas and Perperoglou started to exert their dominance on the match as Barça went into the second quarter with a healthy lead (28-18).
Xavi Pascual's side followed a similar pattern as the match reached the midway point, extending their advantage by three points (46-33). The half-time break did not interfere with Barça's concentration, as they managed to keep Estudiantes at bay for four minutes in the third quarter. At the other end, four points from Tomic, two from Doellman and a free throw from Satoransky saw the Catalans end the third period more than 20 points head (69-47).
Estudiantes attempted a late comeback in the final quarter, bringing the margin down to 77-62, but their hopes were dashed by two free throws by Satoransky and a double from Abrines. Satoransky then put the icing on the cake with a spectacular dunk to end the first game of 2016 with a big win (89-67).
